In any studio hygiene should be the foremost concern and, having lectured on the subject of infection control for four years, Flik is better placed than most to deal with that concern effectively. The Avalon Rooms team have developed and stringently adhere to robust hygiene procedures, sterilisation protocols and preventative measures to ensure that everyone entering our space is as safe as possible at all times. Each working artist has a plethora of infection control and hygiene qualifications to their name and commit to a rigorous Continued Professional Development programme that involves, amongst other things, the annual renewal of all of their hygiene qualifications to make sure that they are always up to date with the latest guidance. Flik also keeps her finger on the pulse of the medical and aesthetic community by reading various journals, studies and other publications as well as networking with other industry professionals to ensure that both herself and the team are aware of emerging technologies and practices. Risk assessments are carried out and reviewed regularly, a central Procedural Guidance Manual is available and given to all staff so that there is standardisation in the protocols as well as all equipment being state-of-the-art and regularly function tested. The Avalon Rooms have separate treatment suites in order to protect the privacy of clients and also because numerous medical studies have shown that this limits the risk of cross contamination considerably. High contact areas of the studio such as door handles and taps are fitted in copper. This is not just because it looks good but also because zinc alloys prevent the growth of bacteria causing most bacterias and viruses that land on their surface to die within two hours. This is not in replacement of regular disinfection but it is a preventative safety net. Four hand washing stations are located within the studio along with five hand sanitiser stations for both staff and client use. Your chosen professional will always use fresh, single use equipment where preferential and freshly cleaned, sterilised equipment in any other circumstance. Booking, filling in consent forms and paying for your appointments can all be carried out in a contactless manner electronically. This helps to prevent the risk of cross contamination as well as protecting client data and being kinder to the environment. Decontamination and sterilisation equipment along with supporting documentation can be viewed upon request.
